Experience the rich history of Africa's Kalahari Desert with a visit to the Omiramba, ancient riverbeds that were once home to lush perennial rivers. These dry riverbeds, which can be up to 3-4 kilometers wide, offer a unique and sandy terrain that still holds the echoes of their majestic past.

The melodic line initially played by the first violins allows students to plan bow division to produce a sustained tone from the tip to the frog. The key allows students to become comfortable in new finger patterns. Legato playing is explored, while techniques such as left-hand pizzicato and harmonics add nuance to the accompaniment parts. The melody is passed around giving all sections the opportunity to shine. The very simple piano part is not essential, rather it provides support to celli and basses.
